Mock-ups

Den här utställningen är en reflektion över hur visuella platser i en målning växer fram, definieras och får sin betydelse. Målningarna i utställningen saknar associationer till en förutbestämd plats och de illustrerar heller inte fiktiva platser. Istället är de resultatet av en samverkan mellan cerebrala tanke- och beslutsprocesser samt måleriet som fysisk aktivitet. Genom applicerandet av nya färglager omdefinieras tidigare handlingar och beslut. Mediet som sådant, den flytande färgen, tvingar tankeprocessen att sakta ned och förhålla sig till den hastighet med vilken färgen appliceras eller avlägsnas. I varje målning prövas och utmanas rummets plasticitet av den målade ytan - och omvänt. Ur detta arbete framträder så småningom en slutgiltig plats. Då först kan målningen anses ha nått sitt mål, sin destination, och kan därmed överges. Ett genomgående drag i målningarna är de fält som är "ofärdiga"; vita områden som kan antyda outforskad begynnelse såväl som ett medvetet avlägsnande, en utradering, bokstavligen "vita fläckar".
