Studio Diary
Richard G. Carlsson was born 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon. He lives and works in Stockholm and studied at The Royal Institute of Art, Stockholm 1988-93. Over the years, he has exhibited, at Bonniers Konsthall, Galleri Engström, Villa San Michelle and Moderna Museet, to name a few. Amongst his latest exhibits, there can be found the well-known Workspaces-Dialogues, which was displayed this past spring at Cecilia Hillström Gallery, Stockholm, and the recent group exhibition “Vid måleriets gräns” at Olle Nymans Ateljéer, Saltsjö-Duvnäs.
The paintings Richard has chosen to show at Galleri Thomas Wallner are seen by the artist as a type of visual journal entries that do not only depict the actual studio, but also brings about the feeling of being in the middle of an active, contemplative vision and an intuitive, open process.
