Scenario
Wallström’s paintings raise issues through thoughtful interaction between the images’ place, depth and surface. Characters usually act solitary in the pictorial space without facing the viewer of the image. Material, colour, light are connected, but nothing explains the other.
The paintings can be reminiscent of a theatrical world with elements and back drops that give the scenes a fictional feel of dream or fantasy
In the images are reflections of both personal reminiscences and pieces from our collective consciousness. Fragments from art history are mixed with contemporary elements from the media flow and the artist’s own experiences.
