My paintings at Gallery Thomas Wallner are gathered around a Shakespeare quotation. How do we experiment with various versions of ourselves, play with masks and identities, perform roles on different stages? Human or animal, man or woman? There is something liberating in being allowed another self, to see or be seen in surprising ways.

Sofie Arfwidson
Born 1976 in Lund and has studied in Düsseldorf, Stockholm and Berlin. Got her M.A at UDK in Berlin.She has a postgraduate from Stockholm Royal Academy 2006. She has been working as an artist in Berlin and is recently back in Sweden. She is working with painting and has been characterized as an expressive surrealist with her very own language. The color is important, and like Kandinsky once said: ” Color is a power which directly influences the soul. ” She has also a B.A in Art history from the University of Lund.
Her earlier artistic work is presented in the catalogue ”Mix” 2013 and ”Sofie Arfwidson” 2010.
She has had several soloshows in Germany and Sweden and has participated in various group shows.
